Having already played up and down the country in the likes of Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and London, the eighth date of the tour brought Lauran and her band to south coast in order to grace the stage at the Concorde 2 on Brighton’s seafront.
Arriving in Southampton for the first time as part of an eleven date UK tour, Hatchie had the unenviable task of providing main support for what was a homecoming show for The Vaccines’ frontman Justin Hayward-Young.
Show 2,307 brought Turner to Bournemouth, a short drive down the coast from his hometown of Winchester, to play the largest headline show he has ever played in the seaside town, on a frightfully cold evening dominated by cold winds and icy roads that had threatened to prevent many of the 4,000 strong crowd from attending.

Harriette Pilbeam, better known professionally as Hatchie, is currently embarking on her biggest UK tour to date whilst supporting former NME Best New Band winners The Vaccines.

There are always smiles and laughter when Beans On Toast is performing – for however long he is on stage you are able to escape from the harsh reality of today’s hate-filled world and instead rebel against all that modern government, media and right-wing societies try to promote.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the three-piece appeared a tad weary following their travels, but rather than allowing this to affect their performance, it actually went some way to creating a transcendently relaxed atmosphere which was enjoyed by all those in attendance.
One can only hope that this tour will inspire them to record some new tracks for a Version 3.0 – what say you Garbage? All in all, a great evening.
