Harriette Pilbeam, better known professionally as Hatchie, is currently embarking on her biggest UK tour to date whilst supporting former NME Best New Band winners The Vaccines.
The 25-year old Australian is synonymous with cascading synths, jangling guitars and white noise that undulate beneath irresistible pop melodies. Her stock has only continued to rise, announcing a tour in support of Kylie Minogue and a slot at SXSW in Austin, since she signed record deals in the UK/Europe with Heavenly Recordings, and North America with Double Double Whammy last year, positioning her as one of the most exciting talents to come from Down Under in recent years.
The tour with The Vaccines commenced last Friday in Brighton and has meandered its way through the country, playing in the likes of Oxford’s O2 Academy and King George’s Hall in Blackburn, before it arrives in Southampton on Sunday to play at the O2 Guildhall. The tour will then conclude with dates in Leicester, Guildford and London over the following days.
Hatchie released her debut EP last summer, consisting of her four previously released singles – ‘Try’, ‘Sure’, ‘Sugar & Spice’, and ‘Sleep’ – and a brand new track for the record, ‘Bad Guy’.
It will be awesome to see how Pillbeam has pulled on her previous experiences of supporting big artists to create an indulgent and impressive show in Southampton.
Hatchie plays the O2 Guildhall in Southampton on 3rd January, tickets have now sold out.
