If you’re a fan of indie anthems, flamboyant style and feel-good vibes, then Jerry Williams could quite possibly be your new favourite artist.
Harriette Pilbeam, better known professionally as Hatchie, is currently embarking on her biggest UK tour to date whilst supporting former NME Best New Band winners The Vaccines.
Fontaines D.C. were performing at The Joiners in Southampton on 14th January.
There are always smiles and laughter when Beans On Toast is performing – for however long he is on stage you are able to escape from the harsh reality of today’s hate-filled world and instead rebel against all that modern government, media and right-wing societies try to promote.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the three-piece appeared a tad weary following their travels, but rather than allowing this to affect their performance, it actually went some way to creating a transcendently relaxed atmosphere which was enjoyed by all those in attendance.
Against The Current may be swimming against the usual “current” of rock bands, but if they carry on progressing at the same rate they have been over the past two or three years, their own waves they are making will only continue to get bigger and bigger.
Hopefully this tour has energised The The enough to return to the studio and record some new material, but, for now, let’s just enjoy seeing them perform live again.
One can only hope that this tour will inspire them to record some new tracks for a Version 3.0 – what say you Garbage? All in all, a great evening.
